It is separate from Cold Weather Payments and Winter Fuel Payments.

In England and Wales: those receiving Guarantee Credit as part of Pension Credit or on a low income with high energy costs.

In Scotland: similar criteria, with additional eligibility if meeting energy supplier-specific requirements.

Others may qualify if they claim benefits like Housing Benefit, ESA, Jobseeker’s Allowance, Universal Credit, or Child and Working Tax Credits.

How to apply?

If eligible, you will get a letter from November 2022 to January 2023 confirming the rebate. Some may need to call a helpline by late February for confirmation. Applications can also be made by calling the Warm Home Discount Helpline before 28 February 2023. The rebate is applied by 31 March 2023.
