On January 9, 2017, General Motors unveiled the next-generation Chevrolet Traverse at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The 2018 model, scheduled for release in summer 2017, marked a significant redesign of the vehicle. Securing lease deals for this new model may be challenging due to its recent market entry and higher pricing. As the model was initially launched in North America, plans include expanding to select South American countries and the Middle East later in 2017.

Lease options for the Chevrolet Traverse are expected to be more popular in these regions. The redesigned Traverse moves away from its rounded shape, adopting a more rugged look similar to the Chevrolet Tahoe. Marketed as a midsize SUV, it resembles the Tahoe more than a compact utility vehicle, with design influences from the mid-sized Chevrolet Acadia. Notable features include a familiar Chevrolet front grille inspired by the Equinox and redesigned rear lighting.

The second-generation Chevrolet Traverse maintains similar dimensions to its predecessor, adding 2.0 inches to its wheelbase and 0.7 inches in overall length. Weighing 4,362 pounds—111 pounds lighter than earlier models—it retains its capacity for 7 or 8 passengers. It offers five trim levels—High Country, Premier, L, LS, and LT—and is available in either all-wheel drive (AWD) or front-wheel drive (FWD), with the L trim only available in FWD. Appearance packages like the Redline Edition for the Premier trim and the RS for the LT are also offered.
