The Dodge brand continues to impress enthusiasts with its impressive lineup of muscle cars. The upcoming Dodge Barracuda stands out as a powerful addition. Inspired by the iconic 1971 Plymouth Barracuda, this model resembles a modernized Dodge Charger. With a storied history spanning over a decade, the Barracuda has become a symbol of American muscle.
Expected to succeed the Dodge Challenger, this new version is smaller, quicker, and more efficient. Although specific chassis details are uncertain, it appears Dodge will not adopt Alfa’s rear-wheel-drive platform.

Visually, the new Barracuda will have a low profile and a narrower stance. Inside, it offers space for four passengers and incorporates cutting-edge technology for enhanced comfort and connectivity.
While previous Barracudas housed HEMI engines, the new model will replace V6 engines with 2.0 or 2.4-liter turbocharged options, delivering 270 to 330 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. The top-tier version is rumored to feature a 3.8-liter V8 engine generating nearly 600 horsepower, positioning the Barracuda against competitors like the Mustang and Camaro. Retaining rear-wheel drive and drag-racing features, this muscle car aims to dominate on the track.
Expected to launch in early 2018, the Barracuda is projected to be priced around $40,000.
